The company was founded in 1992, Houston, Texas, USA. Since 2012, part of the Praxair group. PortaGas is a recognized manufacturer of the highest quality calibration gases and gas mixtures, the composition of which is always confirmed by a certificate compliant with NIST.
The method of making protective coatings for cylinders developed by PortaGas ensures their high durability and:
- possibility of providing mixtures that are difficult to obtain, e.g. 1ppm H2S in nitrogen
- long storage time for highly corrosive gases, e.g. chlorine
- compliance of the offered products with the ISO standard
- possibility of returning empty cylinders in the PortaGreen program
